This Time of Year

Its time to start predicting when the snows will melt and packers can again have access to the backcountry. Tack oiled and ready to go? Horses and mules getting some extra exercise in preparation? Won't be long now!

My Dutch oven is perfect for baking tall, flaky, golden brown biscuits. Smothered with butter and honey, they go nicely with morning eggs.

This beautiful mule, Mandy, easily pulled this log. Now it will be our job to shape it for a perfect fit as a bottom log.

This is my favorite place in the Kings River District, Big Maxon Meadow.
